St Savin Abbey
Called the “Sistine of the Romanesque era” by André Malraux, St Savin Church has the biggest whole of Romanesque paintings in Europe. These paintings have been realised at XIIth century by Benedictine monks of the Abbey. Ranked in 1840 on the first Historical Buildings Inventory after being discovered by Prosper Mérimée. Since 1983, this Abbey is part from the UNESCO World Heritage .
